Making a statement in Rajya Sabha on the death sentence awarded to Kulbhushan Jadhav in Pakistan, Swaraj claimed that the Indian high commission was informed only three hours after the verdict was pronounced and that Jadhav was not given consular access. Responding to Gulam Nabi Azad’s question of government’s efforts to help Jadhav, Swaraj said that everything would be done to help him. “He is India’s son and we will go out of the way to help him,” the minister said deeming the sentence a pre-meditated murder.
